WHAT'S HAPPENING ON BLUETOOTH FRIDAY?
We hope that this initiative will stimulate more and more people to activate their Bluetooth enabled phones and besides that, we suggest to use a meaningful Bluetooth nickname, according to the format below.

Starting in The Netherlands, our aim is to create a situation where there will be a big change that wherever you are, there will be Bluetooth users around you who know about this monthly day and who indicate that they are willing to participate in some fun or exciting Bluetooth communication!

PICK A MEANINGFUL NAME
We suggest you use the pattern at the left to find a nickname for your phone.

Doing that, it's clear for other people who you are and, what your intentions are, which improves the smoothness of the communication process, so to say.
DOES THE THING HAVE BLUETOOTH?
Many phones nowadays have a Bluetooth function. The easiest way to find out is to go through the phone-menus like 'connectivity' and look for Bluetooth options.

Or check out Gsmarena.com which offerst specifications for almost all phones in the world.
SO, WHAT TO DO?
Yes! Do give it a try! Find the right spot where you predict there might be some people who are aware of the fact that it's Bluetooth Friday and follow the following steps:

1)    Find a nice, humerous or weird picture or photo on your phone that you want to send to some stranger somewhere close around you (a distance of about max. 15 meter) / Having the picture ready, try 'More' or 'Options' (or something alike) / Then choose 'Send' / Then select the option 'Bluetooth'.
2)    Your phone will now look for available Bluetooth receivers and finally it will show a list of names that are within reach.
3a)   Choose one of them
3b)   The other person will see 'M31_NICK' wants to transfer an item. Accept?
3c)   The person shoud press 'Yes' or 'OK'
4)   The image is being transferred
5)   Now the receiver can send something back.

VIRUSSES / RISKS
Yes, there are Bluetooth virusses around. But usually they can ONLY harm you if you explicitly allow them to install on your phone, which requires pressing 'OK' 'Yes' 'Really' 'OK' at least repeatedly a number of times.

Just be sure to accept and download item first, without opening directly, if you're not sure it's really an image you're receiving. Virusses can never be contained in any imagefile such as a .jpg

< TRY IT HERE
A couple of suggestions where you could try to find some fellow Bluetooth phones and start up a picture-chat:

Public transportation, inside trains buses or trams, but also while waiting for them to arrive. The office, any workplace, a caf, discotheque, bar, or whatever venue that attracts a certain crowd, with a probability of accepting an incoming message.
COMMUNICATION ICONS
To support the communication process, we have developed a number of icons to be used throughout a picture-chat with someone.

They can be downloaded to be put on your phone as a start. But do invent your own too! Can be fun.
